Julie’s Whole Wheat Beef & Chili Hot Dogs Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Small Tomato
  • Small Onion
  • Hormel Chili Turkey with Beans 98% Fat Free
  • Nature’s Own Whole Wheat Buns
  • Hebrew National 97% Fat Free Beef Franks
  • Cauliflower (or your choice of raw, crunchy veggie)
  • Bolthouse Farms Classic Ranch Yogurt Dressing
  • Cooking Spray
  • Mustard
  • Claussen Kosher Dill Spears

Instructions:

  • *Wash all your fresh fruits and veggies before you prepare them.*
  • First, core your tomato and prep your onion, then dice them into small pieces.
  • Spray your pan with your cooking spray, then put your diced onions to cook first. Wait until they are translucent, probably 3 – 5 min under medium heat. Then add your diced tomatoes and cook them until they soften.
  • Measure out your desired amount of Hormel chili (based on how many points you have) and mix them with your onions and tomato until they are heated up.
  • Meanwhile, place some cold water in a pot, then place your hot dog links in the cold water, waiting until the water boils. Let the franks boil for 3-4 min longer, then get them out with a fork and place them in your hot dog buns. Place your chili sauce on top of your hot dogs and then garnish with some mustard.
  • Place your unused chili sauce in a bowl and use it as a dipping.
  • For a side, you can add your favorite raw veggies (cauliflower, broccoli, or carrots) and add some ranch sauce to it. You can also add a pickle spear. Or you can add some chips – all depending on how many points you have for the day.

Enjoy!
