Hiya, Everyone!
So, it’s been a while now, but I’ve had a craving for chips and bagels for breakfast. Before Weight Watchers, that was my go-to breakfast. A delicious bagel (or two LOL) filled with eggs, deli meat, avocado, and with Lay’s Potato Chips on the side. *faints*
So today I was doing a bit of Spring cleaning when this craving hit me hard! I mean I had already enjoyed my breakfast earlier in the day. So, I couldn’t possibly do a repeat, right? Wrong.
My craving couldn’t be denied. LOL Have you ever had that happen, y’all? It’s been awhile for me, but for some reason (I’ll blame a commercial I saw on TV) I just decided to go with it. So, what’s a girl on Weight Watchers to do? Make it work with your points!
First thing, I got my amazing super low points Soma Egg White Patties which I bought at my local Sam’s.
One egg white patty costs you 0 SmartPoints, and best of all it’s a Backer Item! Yay! Two and three patties both cost you 1 SmartPoint, and let me tell you they are huge!
So, just as the picture on the package suggests, I quickly grabbed my HEB Everything Thin Bagels and got two of them for 6 SmartPoints.
Next, I grabbed my HEB 99% Fat Free Sun Dried Tomato Turkey deli meat which came out to 1 SmartPoint for
6 ounces! *faints* It came out to about four slices of it, just perfect to put two slices per bagel.
Then, to add some creaminess, I added 1/2 wedge of HEB Light Cheese – White Cheddar and Smoked Gouda for 0 SmartPoints.
Finally, my craving wouldn’t be complete without some chips, so I grabbed two of my Weight Watcher chips and each one came out to 2 SmartPoints.
All in total, I was up to 14 SmartPoints for my Breakfast for Dinner meal. Normally, I wouldn’t go so high for dinner, but for some reason, my craving mentality thought this designation of points was totally okay! LOL
Isn’t it too funny how your rationalization of points sometimes only makes sense to you – and only during a certain moment? LOL Afterwards you stop and say – what was I thinking? LOL
Well, let me tell you, I was thinking I needed some AVOCADOS. LOL So, I still had some points and added 82g of Avocado for 4 SmartPoints, rounding out my craving to a whopping 16 SmartPoints!
It was so delicious and I enjoyed every single creamy and decadent bite, but can you believe it, one bag of WW chips was enough for both sandwiches. It’s really hard to believe how packed those little bags are.
So what was I to do? I had already set aside 2 SmartPoints for my dinner. Should I save them for a late night snack? Nope. I went ahead and scrounged around my pantry and fridge for something filling that was 2 SPs. In comes my beef steaks and some light cheese to the rescue.
*happy sigh* It was so amazing and filling; it was exactly what I was craving. And I still had 4 SmartPoints left for the day!
So, you see, next time a craving hits, make sure you round up the lightest version of what would satisfy you, and above all make sure you keep it within your points.
Can you believe I painstakingly gave away 1/4 of my avocado to my son, because that little extra wedge would put me at 5 SmartPoints for the avocado, and for some reason that really brought me back to my senses. LOL
So what about you? What have you done when a craving hits? Tell me about it!
You're amazing. I've been trying to find those Jack Links in the single packs. Where did you buy yours? We, unfortunately don't have an HEB here in Georgia.
ReplyDeleteAaah! I keep forgetting to mention that I buy my beef stakes at my local Target. Sorry about that! Thanks, Sue :)
